Mission
Department of Media & Communication Studies, Karakoram International University aims at providing a unique opportunity to learners by combining innovative media and communication studies with involvement in joint research projects with other stakeholders including prominent media organizations at regional, national, and international levels. Currently, the department offers undergraduate and graduate programs with a special emphasis on print, electronic, and digital media. It equally aims to inculcate the teaching, research, and technical skills among the graduating students to pursue their career paths in diverse fields including teaching and research institutes, public relations and advertising, provincial and federal information departments, news agencies, development agencies and Non-governmental agencies (NGOs). The mission of the Media and Communication Studies department is to prepare students for an increasingly multinational, multicultural, and multimedia work environment and to enhance their practical, research and theoretical understanding of communication and media in its intellectual, professional, cultural, environmental and economic entirety by offering advance courses rooted in theoretical knowledge and instilling practical skills with the overarching aim of inculcating the ethical values of integrity, honesty, respecting human diversity and the spirit of social responsibility and life-long among the graduating students.
