Dr. Akber Ali is the chair and assistant professor of communication studies, at the department of Media and Communication Studies, Karakoram International University Gilgit, Pakistan. He did his PhD in communication studies and has a strong passion for social scientific research in the field of communication and journalism. His interest lies in the application of interdisciplinary approaches of research to produce knowledge in realms of health communication, intercultural communication, climate change communication and international communication. He believes that through research and communication, many of the deep rooted issues and challenges human societies face currently can be addressed. He has over 16 years of teaching, research, management and administrative experience at tertiary level.
